Habits " Orienting" Quote of the Day

"But- and with Gladwell, there is always a but that stands conventional wisdom on its head-when psychologists study the careers of gifted people, they find out a good deal of what distinguishes the world-class expert from the rest of the field is not simply inane, talent or genius, but something that is available to every single one of us:practice."(Para.3, pg 10)   This quote displays practice as an essential part to improving ones skill(s) and no person can increase their skill level without practice. If a person wants to acquire of improve a certain skill one can do so with practice because everyone can do it.

Alfie Kohn was a teacher who lectures and writes about education, parenting, human behavior and was described by Time Magazine as one on the Countries most outspoken critics of education's fixation on grades and test scores. We were assigned this reading because Kohn provides new prospectives about education, human behavior, and parenting because we were used to one way of learning.
