The Importance of the Act of Reading
"...reading a text taken as pure description of an object...and undertaken to memorize the description, is neither real reading, nor does it result in knowledge of the object to which the text refers"(pg.5, Para.1)As Freire states, reading without internalizing the information is basically useless. The quantity of books you read does not matter, it is about the quality of the text and how you interpret that information to gain knowledge.
