This quote got me thinking, if research was meant so that there will be no surprises, then what is the purpose of doing research if you know the outcome. It seems like a waste of time. On the other hand, the reading introduces the idea of "going down a rabbit hole". This is the idea that when you research about a topic, it prompts you to want to research related topics. In my opinion, everyone should know about this idea. Researching about a topic that leads to another will result in unpredicted findings that can help the person doing the researching grow as a person and academically.
