Paragraph:
Yin eyes a topic reoccurring in the novel "Hundred Secret Senses" by Amy Tan. In the first article, it gave an explanation of what yin eyes are.  The author states, "Yin Yang Eyes refer to those who can see into the spiritual world and can converse with spirits".  As the quote mentions, people, like Olivia and Kwan possess yin eyes giving them the ability to communicate with spirits. However, in the second article, "Yin Yang Eyes Meaning", the author associates yin yang eyes with personality traits. For instance "Some would say that these kinds of people are emotionally unbalanced..." in addition to, "The good thing about this is when you cross these people it can take quite a bit for them to truly to be mad or to write you off". Relating this to Kwan, in the beginning of the story, Kwan was sent to a mental hospital because of Olivia. However, Kwan was not angry with Olivia. In the novel Olivia talks about all the negative things she had done to Kwan but Kwan remains happy and optimistic toward Olivia.
